Roys of Wroxham
I’m grateful to my parents for emailing me these photos from the village of Wroxham, Norfolk. Roys has been the main shopping concern there since the late nineteenth century, but it’s only when looking at the photos in quick succession that the slightly comic effect that is village monopoly really kicks in…

How funny is that!
I thought so!
Oh my…I have only just spotted this post and it made me soooooo happy!
I haven’t had the opportunity to visit Roys for some 6 or 7 years, and I have to admit, I miss it. Sure, it was only ever a holiday destination, but it certainly brings back fond memories.
My last trip to Roys was when I introduced my then to be husband to the joys of a forgotten time. My fondest memory was purchasing my first CD single, Ghetto superstar, on my sixteenth birthday.
I hope Roys never loses its status in Wroxham, and I hope the residents treasure it as much as i do.
My goodness, what a small world Ellie!
I haven’t actually been to Wroxham, my parents went there while staying in Norwich and so I got these photos by email!
I did have my tongue firmly in my cheek when I posted this, but everyone I speak to agree with you that Roys is a great store
